I was first introduced to Maya and The Well Placed through one of our Board Trustees. It came as a recommendation to a strategic requirement to recruit a Fundraising & Marketing Manager.

Due to this being a new role for Hospitality & Hope, I was acutely aware we were embarking on somewhat unchartered territory. With this in mind, I wanted and needed to prove the concept without committing ourselves to the medium to long term.

The Well Placed model provided the perfect solution to this need. This coupled with providing a window of opportunity and platform for a private sector expert to gain valuable experience within the charitable sector proved to be a compelling offer. Having built a career in the private sector myself, I absolutely recognise how difficult the transition between sectors can be and therefore wanted to play my part in creating further opportunity.

Undertaking the heavy lifting within the end-to-end recruitment process, Maya actively engaged and consulted with me every step of the way with a view to enabling me to secure the right candidate. Leading on monthly touchpoints with both the employer and employee, Maya also remains firmly engaged throughout, to ensure the outcomes of the process are optimised.

The best outcome(s) to be achieved from this partnership model for the recruiting organisation is the ability to secure a team member for the medium to long term. For the individual, a stepping stone into the charitable sector that ultimately leads to the commencement of a meaningful chapter in their career. 4 months into a 6 month timeline I am thrilled to confirm we absolutely did secure the right candidate, a seasoned individual who brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role. I have already proposed to my Board of Trustees my desire and intention to continue their employment into the future.

The charitable sector stands to gain so much from the wealth of experience on offer in the private sector and I applaud Maya for her continued passion to better enable this transition for many more aspiring individuals and charitable organisations in the future.
