Working with The Well Placed and Hannah our associate has been a very positive experience.

The NFWI-Wales Office was looking to employ a Development Officer to work with WI members to encourage them to think more about promoting themselves and increasing membership in Wales.  Not an easy task!

Fortunately, we were introduced to Hannah, who brought with her a wealth of experience of project based work within the financial sector and a Masters in Behavioural Science.  Hannah brought a different perspective to our work, she looked at the challenges we faced and using her behavioural science skills was able to identify the barriers we faced as to why women are not joining the WI in the numbers we would like, engaged WI members and non-members to gather their perspective and provide some useful practical solutions.

Hannah hit the ground running and was able to quickly grasp the issues and start to address them immediately.  I am not sure we would have found a candidate of Hannah’s calibre through the usual recruitment process, one with the behavioural science knowledge and project skills which have proved invaluable.

The working environment within the charitable sector is very different to the commercial sector, and that can be challenging at times. For example, charities are often slower to make decisions because of their governance structure, have limited financial resource and are more risk adverse, but with the right support and guidance it is possible to adjust and utilise fully the skills brought, in a positive and productive way.
